Extend the Benefits of CranioSacral Therapy between visits
Parents often ask if there's anything they can be doing at home to help reduce tension in their baby's body or help their CST Treatments last longer. Supporting your child through Infant Movement Techniques™ supports their physical developement while reducing tension throughout their body and helps their body to continue to unwind tension patterns post CranioSacral Therapy.
Touch is a Conversation
Touch is the first language between a child and their parent. Through movement and touch, the child learns about their world, whether or not it's safe and how to engage and explore. Because we live in an increasingly sedentary society, often limited in physical touch, our children are experiencing less opportunity for movement and regular human contact. A sedentary lifestyle for an infant shapes the brain in ways that can have detrimental impacts on physical, mental, social, & emotional development.
Movement is the Foundation of Infant Development
Every time a baby moves, they are learning about their body and the environment around them. The more an infant moves, the more opportunity there is for interacting with the environment and learning about how the body can impact that environment - first by instinct and reflexes with feeding, next through accidental surprises that become learned movements like learning to control hand motions, and next through intentional movement like rolling over, sitting, & crawling.
